Hello!

My name is Tonya, I am a mother and work-at-home internet marketer.

I started out in the industry of internet marketing (IM) determined to make a living from home, and with something that I enjoyed doing.

It's working, and I love it.

My Story

Several years ago I was a database software developer, making a pretty decent living. When my child came along I made a decision - I didn't want to leave the house for work and I didn't feel it would be the best for my child - so I quit and started my own business from home.

I had some marketing experience and began marketing from home for a local company. While working that business I became interested in marketing online. I saw tremendous potential from it - I'm sort of a computer "geek" anyway - so I looked into it further.

Then something happened that made it necessary for me to become the sole wage-earner of the household - I knew I needed to build my business big, and I needed to do it as quickly as possible.

I began looking into various online money-making opportunities to supplement my income, but became quite frustrated along the way due to several "opportunities" that turned out to really only benefit the people that were offering them. (See page: Making Money Online - What to Avoid) But I knew that there was a way to make an online business work, and that I could be successful at it.

My goal was an IM business that didn't "top out" or become limited due to time constraints, etc. Plus, being a mom I was not able to conform to anything resembling a "normal" schedule - I needed to be able to work the business around my life and family.

I finally ran into Wealthy Affiliate Marketing University, knowing that in order to really succeed in the internet marketing business I would have to learn it well first - how to do it the right way for the long haul, and to build it up over time. Shortly after joining up I knew I had done the right thing.

Right off the bat I started the training program and received plenty of help from the Wealthy Affiliate creators and members. Applying what I had learned I began to see some real success. Several more months went by and with consistent and determined work it's really paid off.

I'm a long way from becoming an expert in all types of internet marketing but I know a few ways quite well and am continuing to learn. I'm making a decent living now - on my own terms - and am enjoying my life. Every day is a joy and a new adventure in this business.

But the most important thing: I am being a mom as I see fit. :)
