So... a freegan greenhouse, what is one of those? and what's "freegan"
when its at home?
Freegan is defined as "Somebody who abstains from contributing to the economy and salvages society's wasted... resources rather than purchase more themselves."

The original design which was amended during construction, to change the roof shape. The timber frame and secondary glazing negated the need for the stone walls which are shown. To date the project is unfinished due to weather conditions, but when finished will feature a rain water recycling/watering system. | Andrew says "So I've designed and am building a greenhouse out
of bits and bobs
that would otherwise be thrown away. The starting point for this was a
uPVC baywindow/french door set and some triple wall poly carbonate from
a conservatory roof, I have had to buy the timber for the structure,
some concrete and the fixings but everything else is going to be
free. When I started the timber frame for this project, I had an offer of some second hand Everest secondary glazing, sufficient glazing panels to glaze the rest of the greenhouse. Obviously I snapped up these panels before they were tipped." |
