Hello! Readstrange Writers is a writing group based in Wellington, NZ. We focus on giving supportive (but not necessarily uncritical) feedback on writing across a variety of genres, including fiction, poetry, book reviews, articles, science fiction, literary fiction, mainstream... you get the idea. We also sometimes discuss topics such as writing events, publishing and the bizarre antics of Lee's cat. We meet every second Tuesday at members' houses in the centralish Wellington area (rides from town are often available). Members bring a plate and copies of a piece of writing to share (we particularly ask that you bring something to your first session, though you can opt just to share it and not recieve feedback if you chose). Keeping an eye on the group will give you an indication of how many people are coming - otherwise about seven copies is a good guess.

As we will be giving address details out on the list, we are restricting it to those who come along reasonably regularly (though 100% attendence is certainly not required). New members are very welcome, but when applying to join, please include information on yourself such as your name, the area you live and the types of things you write. This will be forwarded to the list by a moderator to introduce you. |
