It is the mission of REACH to promote the development and operation of safe, affordable, transitional and permanent supported housing communities for persons with low income and a disability. REACH promotes stable housing for tenants by coordinating with the MAP Housing Supports Team and promoting participation of current and future residents in the creation and care of housing that is exceptional in community integration, appearance, operation, safety, and comfort.
MAP MISSION
Michigan Ability Partners (MAP) offers a choice of services to people facing barriers to self-sufficiency that include: developmental disabilities, mental illness, addiction, homelessness and other risk factors. In partnership with MAP, each participant’s efforts and achievements build a foundation for life-long, self-directed growth.
Home Zone Est. 1997 Whispering Creek Est. 2009
MAP and REACH work together to create model communities of affordable housing for people with disabilities. We provide housing for up to 13 Veterans with a safe, stable, supported environment. MAP works closely with each Veteran and the VA Homeless Program towards individual goals of empowerment and self-sufficiency.
REACH will be constructing a commemorative path and wall around the flag pole at Whispering Creek a Transitional House for Veterans in May, 2010 for our annual United Way Day of Caring event. This wall will pay tribute to the men and woman who have served their country, while also creating a beautiful garden feature for the residents to enjoy.
