  • New class rules in action June 7, 2011
As of June7, 2011, the new RC Laser Class Rules have been approved by Jon Elmaleh, owner of Out There Technologies (OTT), the manufacturer of the RC Laser worldwide. The pdf of these approved rules can be downloaded from the left side menu.

We have had a working committee comprised of Jon Elmaleh(owner), Chris Jackson (United Kingdom), Terry Flynn (South Africa), Nigel Seary (United Kingdom), Steve Lang (USA) and Dave Branning (NA Class Secretary), who have collectively put a lot of time into tightening and cleaning up the document to create rules, especially for racing.

As the largest and simplest one design class in the RC world we further strengthen our appeal to recreational skippers as well as potential RC racers who want a one design, non-development class.

We are a manufacturer's class and as such the rules are tightly controlled by OTT to assure one design adherence. We also have a process to bring suggested and valid changes to OTT for acceptance if warranted. The rules committee is part of that process, accepting valid ideas from the boat owners around the world.

The new June 7, 2011 rules have addressed the following:
    • racing the boat as you receive it "out of the bag"
    • the addition of the "D" sail and boom length
    • addressing the batteries, electronics and servo specifications
    • allowing a process to bring suggested changes forward through a rules committee
    • sail number specifications and location
