Women Walking the Wheel in Texas 10am-6pm. Suggested cost $10 This program includes a full day
of activities for each session, from 9am
until 8pm and will consist of 3
separate segments (morning, afternoon & evening with breaks
for lunch and dinner). We will explore the wheel of the year on different
levels (physical, environmental, psychological, etc). Ready for growth,
change or learning on a new level? 'Women Walking the Wheel' is
the place to start. Interested in the cycles of life, the wheel of the year,
spiritual psychology and cycles in nature? The Wheel is a concept, a process, a
naming for the connected seasonal celebrations of the pagan year – the
"holy days" honored by peoples before us and now. It is a conversation
about not only about light, the seasons and the cycles of growth but also
the human metaphor and goddess stories overlaid on the Wheel. Using the tools
of circling in a group of women, we'll overlay our cycle of experiences as they
relate to the turning of the Wheel in our lives. Much more than the linear
chronological passing of time, our inner experience of living follows the
cycles of nature. Please consider joining us and sharing this with any groups
you may be on :-) And feel free to invite a friend! This program is open
to all women over the age of 18. Each session will consist of a morning
segment for the Sabbat past, an afternoon segment for the upcoming
Sabbat and then a related social event.

meets the 2nd Sunday Monthly 1-3pm The DECEMBER MEETING WILL BE HELD OFFSITE (holiday crowding) December 13th, 2009 "The Sybil" The Sybil by Par Lagerkvist first American edition published Random House 1958, 154 Pages * If you need a copy of the book, please phone BookWoman at 512-472-2785 immediately. At 154 pages **The Sybil** is short and a fast read. We will meet in the Club Room on the west side of the south court of the French Quarter apartment complex at 2211 West North Loop (see map below). The French Quarter is between CVS and Univision. The phone in the club room is (512) 4521012. It is not far from BookWoman, so plan to stop by the book store and shop for gifts after the meeting. New women are welcome. * On the surface, The Sibyl seems to be a decent enough myth about a man who was cursed by Christ for a show of inhospitality, and his approaching an ex-prophetess of Apollo on a mountainside overlooking Delphi. This book, however, delves into the mythological implications of the human being searching for meaning in a world where gods, or God, allows pain and evil to exist. The characters have no names, a feature often found in cosmological and mystical myths to help the reader "step into" the roles found therein. A truly moving account of the pains of being not just called, but Chosen, and of ultimately finding a place for oneself in an often harsh world. Written in 1956, The Sibyl is full of the sense of confusion and loss of the post war era, and Lagerkvist's own, often pessimistic, philosophical debates on the nature of man's significance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2nd Thursdays continue!! 122 Dustin's Drive Uhland TX 78640 Join us this Sunday to observe the changing moon as she heads towards new.....Everyone is familiar with rituals during the Full Moon... but the Dark Moon (three nights prior to New Moon) is -while lesser known- just as powerful. The goal during the Dark Moon is to attune with the greater powers at hand. In the case of the Dark Moon, this power is a receptive one. Dark Moon energies are those of the Spirit without a particular goal in mind. Open up to the Spirit energies & remember that we do not always know what is best for us. By opening yourself up in this way and freeing your mind of prejudices, you may receive grace, revelations, and power that you never even realized you needed. Hope to see you then!! <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Please join us as we celebrate the Winter Solstice (Yule) in Ritual on Monday December 21st, 2009 at the Human Potential Center in South Austin. The Human Potential Center is located at 2007 Bert Ave Austin, TX 78704. We will gather at 7:00 p.m. and the ritual will begin at 7:30 p.m. Please bring a chair and dress appropriately, as this is an outdoor ritual. Karen, our Guardian, has created an Ancestor Altar to be present at each Sabbat. Please bring pictures, small tokens or anything of memory that represents someone or something that has passed since Ostara. The items will not be returned, so it must be something you can part with. Something that has passed can be defined as a human, animal, plant, or concept. Karen will also set up our Gifting Altar. All donations to the gifting altar will raise funds for Austin-RCG. We have been blessed to have such a beautiful space in which to stir our energy, isn’t it just like Austin-RCG to gift it forward? We will be making a donation to the Human Potential Center for the use of space for each Sabbat. They currently do not require payment, so we are making the gift offering as a “thank you.” Feel free to contribute whatever you feel you are able to gift. |
