We have created a project based learning experience for our students to complete. This project accommodates many different learning styles while improving skills in all subject areas.
This website contains all of our lesson plans and components we used in our recycling unit. All of the standards accomplished in this project have also be listed on this site.
First, students need to understand what recycling is. We created this video to help them understand these concepts and terms. This video can also help get students excited to learn about recycling.
Another thing we thought was very important for the students to complete before digging into all of this information was to create a mind map. Students mapped what they knew about recycling as well as what they wanted to learn. As they continued through this project the students had opportunities to add to their maps. This is a great way to help the students organize the information they are learning.
