 Refugio State Beach is just a short 25-minute drive from
Rancho La Scherpa.
This scenic location is lined with tall palm trees and provides 1.5 miles of
beach with plenty of sand and surf. Recreational activities include "boogie boarding," surfing, tidepooling, kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and bicycling. Dolphins are frequently sited just a short distance offshore. Refugio Beach has an abundance of picnic tables and grills. Our kitchen staff is glad to provide a sack lunches for your group if you decide to spend an afternoon at Refugio. Beach Bar-b-ques can also be arranged  |  Rancho La Scherpa has wonderful horseback riding opportunities available for people of all ages. Trail rides can be arranged through the Circle-Bar-B Ranch that is just minutes down the road from our camp. Their prices are very reasonable. During the summer, Circle-Bar-B also offers an entertaining dinner theater that is extremely popular among central coast residents.
