Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo is as metropolitan as it gets. If you've seen one big city, you've seen them all. It is home to the imperial palace that houses the emperor and empress. It is open to the public one day out of the whole year so the only difference between it and the white house is that the Japanese don't claim it to be the "people's house."
The Tokyo Tower, much like other towers gives you a bird's eye view of the city. This means miles of skyscrapers. What did strike me as interesting was that all the staff of the tower were women except the elevator operators.

The Japan Railways (JR) is a simple system until you get to the Tokyo Station. About five million trains depart from there. From the outside it looks a lot like the Central Railway Station in Chennai. I remember, there is a post office as soon as you get off on the Marunouchi side. I remember these things because I absolutely love the postal service as well as trains. I believe trains are undeniably romantic. I have officialy ridden a train in 5 countries. That would be every country I've visited minus Canada.
