Come out and join us for the Ramsey Cycling Club Time Trial!
This is an all comers, everyone welcome event to get us all together, ride a time trail and hang out for some fun afterwards. We want to make this a good monthly event, so come on out and invite your friends to take part as well.
Have you ever wondered if all the riding you are doing is paying off or making a difference? This is how you can easily measure your fitness gains. You ride the same course several times over the season and record your elapsed time. As the season progresses, your time should improve.
It does not matter whether you are a serious racer, or a casual recreational rider, it's still good to know you are becoming more fit. So don't worry about how fast you are, how old you are, how slow you are, or whether you have a time trial bike or not...this is simply a race against yourself. You may not always see it in your body shape and size, but you are getting faster and stronger constantly and the clock always reveals the truth. That is why the Time Trial has been called the "Race of Truth" by riders for years!
The Race
If you want to race, we will place your name on a starting list, then send one rider off at a time in 30 second or one minute intervals. You will be held upright to start so you can get the fastest start possible. The starter will count down to announce your start and say "GO!" After that, it'a all up to you. You will ride north on County 1 to Zimmerman (6 miles) turn around and continue back to the finish line on the opposite side of the road to the point from which you started. The starter also will record your time as you finish so all you have to worry about is riding. That's it! Go --- Ride fast--- turn around --- ride fast ---- and stop.
Can you handle the race of truth? Of course you can!
