Took Masters Degree in Information Science from Banaras Hindu University, PhD in Library and Information Science, MA in History and Bachelor of Laws from University of Kerala. Has worked in Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum Public Library, Cochin University of Science and Technology, H.H. Maharajas’ College for Women at Trivandrum, Kasaragod Government College and Government Brennen College at Tellycherry and was the first University Librarian of Kerala Agricultural University.  Presently is the University Librarian of Mahatma Gandhi University.

Has numerous innovations and achievements to the credit which includes development of specialized ICT based systems, published books and research papers related to Information Science as well as popular Malayalam translations of works of Hermann Hesse and Khalil Gibran. Has organised many national seminars, conferences and workshops on ICT related aspects. Has also associated with many expert committees on ICT formed by professional organizations, universities and government. Is a founder member of Centre for South Indian Studies, life member of Centre for Agricultural Informatics, ILA, and IASLIC.  In recognition of the  outstanding contributions in application of ICT for library and information service field has been presented with the S.M.Ganguly National Award in 1998.
