Raleighwood Media Group was established in 2008 by Lisa Jeffries in an effort to provide local small-to-medium size business owners, non-profits, and individuals a consulting group that could be relied upon to provide current and cost-efficient knowledge of marketing and brand management opportunities and resources. The following are some of our most common FAQs (frequently asked questions) and our consultants' responses to each. What exactly is it that you do? from Lisa: It really can't be summed up in a few sentences... but I can tell you where I start. My goal is to help small to medium sized businesses figure out how to brand their business and place their marketing in new mediums as a complement (and sometimes, a replacement) to traditional media (radio, tv, print ads). This includes everything from social media to re-positioning traditional media. Some of the best ideas come from tweaking what you're already doing: making websites more user-friendly, promoting initiatives and involvement through your own networks and fans, and so on. How did you get into that? from Lisa: As a NCSU grad with two degrees from the College of Textiles and the College of Management, my background is obviously in marketing and brand management. I paired those "book smarts" with a year of inside and outside sales experience and really begin to hone my skills. Spending a year in sales for a large private company with 40-some locations, I constantly saw how inconsistent marketing and branding creates confusion in the marketplace. I couldn't sit back and just "go with it" - I constantly found ways to improve that from the inside-out and realized that it happens all the time, in businesses of all shapes and sizes. It didn't take too long for me to figure out that I could really make a go of it since I had so many friends and family contacting me for on-the-side projects.
