I looked at it for the first time. Nokia N 90 model...It was on Shwetha's bed. She had left it there and gone out. She bought it a year ago. From then, she had been using it all the time. It was strange indeed to see her leaving the mobile alone. She looked disappointed today. Slowly, my eyes were closing... I could see a panorama of incidents flickering in front of my eyes....
Shwetha and I were roommates from the first year. She was very studious and had got a good EAMCET rank. Her world was made up of only one component.... books....books... books... She was very attentive in class doing all the problems... She was very friendly with me discussing every single event in her life... and soon we became good friends...
In the second year, things changed a lot. She got a mobile phone. During the 3rd semester, she used it as just an alarm to wake up. In the 4th sem, calls started flowing in....i could see her walking in the place in front of gate having long conversations on the phone... slowly, she disappeared from my world...
Two weeks before, I could hear her conversation with some guy on the other side. They were actually quarelling with each other. The other day, I saw tears coming from her eyes ( of course, just for a few seconds!!)
" You and I .... in this beautiful world...."
I woke up with this ring tone of her mobile. I could see a message blinking on it...

" 1 new text message received"
I smirked at it. " Go and read it" My soul said to myself. I was thinking.... But Slowly, my hands were reaching her mobile....

    The Diary

At the same time....
Saddharma Sadan,
Parking Lot

" Fagging in the cold night is fun, isn't it?" Ram asked me.
I nodded at him taking the already burning cigarette from him and took a puff.
"So, how's Shyam? I haven't seen him for days." He said.
"How would I know? It's been two days since I saw him.", I said flicking the ash on the ground.
" Okay dude. I gotta go now. Good night" He said and disappeared in the dark.
I took a few more puffs and started to my room. I was thinking about him all the way.
Shyam and I were childhood friends. It was indeed our fortune to get admission in the same college, of course, in a different branches. We shared each and every moment of our lives with each other.
One fine morning, he said that he had fell in love with a gal in his branch. In the evening,he said that the gal had accepted his love. People say that those who were in love always neglect studies. But surprisingly, he topped in the class after that. Slowly, he became busy. There were only two things he used to do in the hostel. One is studying and the second one is talking with her over the phone.
"I'm lost ra", He told me two days back.
I could not understand it. I asked him about it but he said that he would tell me in a few days. That's the last time I saw him.
With these heavy thoughts in mind, I entered my room. I sat in front of my computer and started playing a LAN game.
Soon, I lost a game. With great disappointment, I hit the table. Suddenly, a book fell on the ground from the table.
I looked at it and surprisingly, it was a Diary....Yes, it was his diary. I took it and kept it on the table. I knew that reading other's diary is a bad idea.
I started playing the LAN game again. But this time, I could not concentrate on it. My eyes were still on that diary. I could see its pages flickering. On one of the pages, it was written in big letters....
" Don't ask her to love you"
" If you remember her, just read your class books or listen to some good music"
Now, these sentences raised my curiosity. My hands stopped listening to my mind. They were picking that book......

The First Kiss

(At the same time)

He placed his arms around her waist. Her hands were already on his shoulders. She raised herself up,head tilted, while he was looking at her. They looked into each other's eyes before closing. He let his lips fall right into the place of her's. A touch, a feeling of peace and happiness which he wanted it to last forever. It was their first kiss. And it was perfect.
She felt his lips, so soft and so warm. He smelled of strength and masculinity. She remembered the lines from the movie "Hitch"

" Eight out of ten women think they will learn all they need to know about a man and where their relationship is going from the first kiss"

"Yes... it is one hundred percent correct", she thought.
She said 'no' to this man. She did not accept his invitation to come for a date on this cold night. And now, she was kissing the man of her dreams.
He raised his head and looked into her eyes and slowly came to her lips once again.
He felt her lips so tender and so sweet. He had never thought that this would happen in his life. He felt it so nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time. She was the heart throb of the guys in the college and now she was in his arms. He was enjoying the sensations he had never felt before. He had been getting everything he wanted. He felt that he was the happiest person on this earth as he heard the faint siren of the train coming.

He came out of his memories. He always remembers the first kiss whenever he is alone. It changed his perspective towards relationships.
The train was tearing through the night. He was standing on the track. He took a deep breath and looked straight. In just few more seconds, the train would hit him. There would be a small column in the newspapers about his suicide. People would read it enjoying the morning coffee and forget soon after reading it. There can be a scrolling in the news channels in an hour soon after his death.

By this time, most of the people would not have slept, but majority of them would have been trying to sleep. Modernization made us insomniac. So, he would be entertaining them in an hour.
The train was fast approaching him in a gentle motion. No... The death was fast approaching him in a gentle motion. He remembered Rajesh, his roommate and Shwetha...
He closed his eyes...Few more seconds and the train would hit him.
Suddenly, he was pulled aside by someone. He fell on the rocks beside the track. The train was moving away on the track beside him....

The Chronicles Of My Love

Saddarma Sadan
Room No: G 51
The room was dark. The tube light in the room had some problem. A small bulb at one corner of the room was flickering due to voltage fluctuations. Rajesh opened the first page of the diary.

Have you ever listened to the rain drops pelting down in the dark? Have you ever looked at the morning sun rise through the window of your room? We chat on the internet with people who are thousands of miles away from us but do not even bother to wish our neighbours. We do research to find out what's going on in the Universe, but did we ever try to think about the feelings of our beloved ones?

Humans are selfish. This fact does not surprise me much. But what surprises me the most is this--- Why do they read others' diaries with so much interest, when there's nothing to gain from those?
Well... this is Shyam and welcome to my world of emotions...

Life has many interesting moments in it. And, sometimes we need to preserve a few of them. Yes, I need to preserve today's moments... Let me put them all in black and white.. because it's not every time you go to the college on Sunday and meet a pretty young gal..

Yeah..today is Sunday and I've gone to college. I had some experiments due in the chemistry lab and Prof. Ramanadham had asked me to do them today. Yet I was happy 'cause he would not be there in the lab.
I entered the Chemistry lab. To my surprise, he was there. I looked for any other students in the lab. I couldn't find any. Now, that was horrible. His entire concentration would be on me.
With a fear in mind, I started doing the experiment.
I was mixing a solution with Sulphuric acid when I heard her sweet voice.
" Excuse me, can you give me the acid, please?"
I looked back. She was beautiful. I looked straight into her brown eyes with full attention. She was dressed in a white salwar kameez. I kept gazing at her eyes.
" Are you a Scorpion?", she asked while pouring a few drops of sulphuric acid into the conical flask.
Yes... I'm a Scorpion.. but how does she know that??
" Are you a Scorpion?" she asked me again.
" Yes... I am. But... but how do you know that?" I asked pouring a few more drops of the acid though not needed.
" Only Scorpions look at people like that ." She said giving a gorgeous smile.
"Oh! What are you then?" I asked.
"Gemini" She replied.
Now.. it's time to introduce myself... I thought.
"By the way... I'm Shyam."
"Oh! Nice to meet you, Shyam. I'm..."
"I'll kick your burette out" . We heard a husky voice and ... oh! It was Prof. Ramanadham's voice. He does not like guys and girls talking with each other. We immediately rushed to our respective tables and started pretending as if we were doing a research in the field of Organic Chemistry.
The cloud was dark out there as we completed the experiment and came out. The cool breeze touched me softly.
" So, you believe in zodiac signs?" I asked as we were walking towards the main gate.
" Yes... of course..I believe in them. Do you believe ? " she asked me.
" Well... I don't know whether I believe in them or not.. " I told her shrugging my shoulders.
It started to drizzle. A rain drop had fell on her nose, touched her lips and finally on the ground. How lucky it was !
We, immediately, rushed towards the car parking. There was no one in the campus.
One... it was Sunday and there was no one in the campus. Two.. it was a rainy day and three... we stuck up at a car parking... Wow! getting all the freaking ideas in the universe...
By the time we reached the parking, she was half wet. Now, she was gorgeous...
The very thought that I was spending a rainy day with a pretty gal was making me crazy.
I needed to start a conversation. Otherwise, she may feel my presence boring... But how???
" U know...people say that Gemini girls are great pals... But somehow, I can't get along well with them..." I said only to realise that I've spoiled the entire mood with my girls-don't-like conversation. No Gemini girl would like me saying like that.
She smiled and said " Hmmm..."
This was terrible. When a girl says like that, she means that she did not like what you say.
" So... you haven't told me your name...?" I said.
"Oh... I forgot.. I'm Shwetha" she said...
Rajesh closed the book.
"Shwetha" he said to himself... He heard this name somewhere. Many past incidents started moving in front of his eyes... His body was covered with sweat all along...
