How to Burn Playable Games for the Nintendo Wii First off, you're gonna want quality media. Wiis are very picky and the type of DVD-R's you use. I highly recommend Verbatim, they will work every time. You don't need Dual-Layer, you can use DVD-R or DVD+R. Requirements: Modded Nintendo Wii DVD Burner Quality DVD-/+R Media (Verbatim) ImgBurn Tutorial: Step 1: Insert the Blank DVD into your DVD Drive Step 2: Open ImgBurn. You should see a screen like this: ![]() Step 3: Click "Browse for a File": ![]() Step 4: Select the .ISO file you have downloaded. Click "Open": ![]() Step 5: In ImgBurn, set the Write Speed to either 2x or 2.4x: ![]() Step 6: Click "Write": ![]() Step 7: Congratulations, your game is now burning! The few Dual Layer game´s that are available
at the time of writing this (SSBS & Metroid Prime Trilogy)
are backuped with Hektosoft´s Hektograph in the same way
as single Layer disks.
Hektosoft Hektograph automatically detects the Dual Layer
property and takes care of the special handling.
Only in the burning process you have to keep an eye on
the following special treatment:
If your Wii is chipped you need to burn the
dual layer image on to a DVD+R DL in spite of a DVD-R DL medium
and you need to set the layerbreak to 2084960.
If on the other hand your Wii is hardmodded with a mod chip
(i.e. YAOSM) then you can forget about the layerbreak
and use DVD-R DL and DVD+R DL equally.
