What is RaDiCaL?

 

Research and Development in Cumbria and Lancashire (RaDiCaL) is a partnership of all the NHS trusts and HEI’S in Cumbria and Lancashire, together with public, industry, social service, SHA and UKCRN representation.

The partnership is led strategically by a Board, with the R & D managers from member trusts forming the operational group. In addition there is a colloquium with representation from HEI’s and trusts which reports to the Board. The partnership includes and is supported by Health Research and Development North West (RDSU).

Mission Statement  

To improve both the quantity and quality of research for patient/public benefit taking place in Cumbria and Lancashire through working in partnership, realising potential and developing capacity.

 

 

Strategic Goals

·        Maximise the potential of existing R & D activity in Cumbria and Lancashire to benefit the population

·        Develop R & D capacity and capability in Cumbria and Lancashire in order to support all research activity

·        Increase the amount of research funding coming into Cumbria and Lancashire in order to improve the health and social care of our population

·        Maximise organisational efficiency and research governance arrangements (including IT) to ensure that Cumbria and Lancashire is perceived by researchers and funding bodies as an attractive place in which to carry out research.

·        Create an inclusive, effective research and development partnership within Cumbria and Lancashire which networks nationally and internationally.
