Rachel & Andy

How We Met: One weekend morning I was walking up the steps to my apartment, when I saw this guy looking into the windows of the vacant apartment next door to mine. I said hello, and he explained that he was up for the weekend to look at apartments, since he was moving up to the Detroit area from Austin, Texas. The management company had told him they would leave the vacant apartment open for him to look around, since they are not open on the weekends. However, when he got to the vacant apartment, the door was locked so he had no way to see the apartment. I was coming back from spending the night in Ann Arbor when I ran into him, so I was a little tired and hungover enough at the time to offer him the opportunity to look around my apartment and see what they looked like. After he looked around, we started talking and he told me he was looking at this apartment complex, as well as the one I had just moved out of. I gave him my honest opinion of both places and suggested that he should move into the complex I was currently at, rather than the other one. Well, he took my advice and moved in next door to me about a month later. Since it was the dead of winter, we didn't see each other much, but then one day in April, our mailman accidentally put his Sports Illustrated in my mailbox, so I knocked on his door and gave it to him. He said thanks, and since it was one of the first nice days of the year, he asked if I wanted to sit out on our shared porch and have a beer. I said sure, and we hung out that night. After a few more nights of hanging out, we started dating and the rest is history....
Wedding Details
Even though Andy and I live outside of Detroit, I am originally from the Grand Rapids area, so we are having the wedding there. This way, only one side of the family has to travel.
We have finally decided on our colors, and they are going to be:
Plum Platinum
This is going to be our other accent color - it is like an orchid/victorian lilac color:
**Disclaimer: I started collecting pictures long before I created my bio or even knew that you were supposed to give credit. If I've used any of your pictures, please page me on the Grand Rapids board and I will make sure to give credit where credit is due! |
