Principal Gina Smith pictured with Rabbit Ear students during our 2010 Severe Weather Awareness Day- The KD0NIV club was funded by a grant through the American Radio Relay League (www.arrl.org), and sponsored by the Mile High DX Association, (www.mhdxa.com), and many local area ham radio operators. (Pictured above....Thanks To John, W0VG, and Rocky Mountain Ham Radio for the use of their emergency communication trailer!).  The club equipment consists of a Yaesu FT-897 transceiver, an MFJ magnetic loop antenna, as well as a number of home made and donated equipment.  Guest speakers are always welcomed!! Student of the Month

  • Charith Charithstanding between Anna and Caitlin,  has a great attendance rate in class and he is full of many questions and answers.  He is a real hands on learner and has enjoyed operating the KD0NIV amateur radio station with his classmates.  He is very sharing and demonstrates a strong willingness to learn.  Charith often stays late to operate the radio and shows real spirit of being a good operator.  Here he is with Anna and Caitlin searching for the FOX, a low power hidden transmitter. FOX hunting is a new skill the kids are learning towards their goal of working the International Space Station someday.
