Do you ever have those days that were just meant to be... spent differently? Days such as a hot stuffy day. Not meant to be stuck in a classroom, but lying lazily on your bed. Or a clear crisp day that was definitely NOT meant to be wasted on sluggish meandering about the house, but meant for a walk in a redwood forest or at a picnic. Especially days that are rainy. Those days you don't want to be scurrying around the campus in cold wet shoes. Those days are meant for firesides and big fantasy books. They were made for hot chocolate and cuddling with someone you love, bundled in blankets.

Well, today was a day that was meant for staying at home. If I did that I might have watched the fog drizzle on the bricks through the window. I would have observed the clouds form in the cold crisp sky. I would have wanted to paint the storm clouds in the distance as I sipped hot tea with a blanket wrapped around me.

As the sun started to shine I would have thought of a poetic metaphor for the day as I curled up with my cat. While the sun warmed and heated the house I would have closed my eyes and taken a nap on the book I had delved into as my cat rested on my back.

Then, later, I would look back on the day and feel a proud satisfaction of a day well spent. This feeling would appear with a twinge of sorrow and desire that this day had not lasted longer.
