Every Mile Counts Challenge

Submit your ATW milesto be entered in a drawing for $50 local bike shop gift 

cards, QC PassPORTs (for unlimited bus rides in June), and other prizes.  This 

is not a mileage contest.  Everyone who participates has an equal shot at a prize.  

"Every Mile Counts" towards slimmer waists, fatter wallets, and cleaner air.

Car-Free Challenge

How many days can you go without driving [or riding in] a car?  

For each day you go "Car-Free" during ATW, your name will be entered in a drawing for free passes to the Figge Art Museum or gift certificates at local restaurants.  

More car-free dedication = more chances to win!  

Take the Survey and log your Car-Free days.

 

              Prize drawings will be held on Friday, May 15 at the ATW Wrap Up Party.           

            **You don't have to attend the party to win a prize-Max 1 prize per person**          

ATW Survey must be completed May 9-14 to be eligible for prizes.

Calendar of ATW Events

Saturday - May 9
Bike, Bus, and Stroll to the Farmer's Market
8 a.m.-1 p.m.  

Visit QC TAG at the Freight House Farmer's Market, Davenport.  
Bike Valet and booth will be located on the west side of the market near the railroad tracks - look for the big yellow bus.
Start ATW off right at the market and support local growers.


Sunday - May 10
Bike to Worship & Commuter Blessing

Area pastors and spiritual leaders are encouraged to talk to their congregations about the importance of conservation.  People can walk, bus, or bikes to services where a ceremonial 'Blessing' will take place to promote good health and safety in the coming year.  Talk to your spiritual leader about hosting an event.

Monday - May 11
Bike Commuter Breakfast - 6:30-9 a.m.

Stop off at Bechtel Park at the foot of the Government Bridge & 2nd Ave in Davenport for a fill up on healthy energy.  
Greatest Grains is sponsoring the event which will include breakfast burritos, yogurt, granola bars, & coffee.

Tuesday - May 12
Great Commuter "Race"

Local notables will show that commuting by bike or bus 
is just as viable as the car.  Media coverage will address advantages and disadvantages of each.

Wednesday - May 13
Ride of Silence - 6:30 p.m.

This slow-paced ride honors killed or injured cyclists.  Riders with black armbands will ride silently through our city streets.  Ride starts at the QC Botanical Center [2525 4th Ave].

Thursday - May 14
ATW Film Fest - 6 p.m. - Augustana College Science Building Rm 102 

Showing of online movies and YouTube clips that will entertain and show what's possible in communities that promote alt-trans.  
Film fest will be followed by an open discussion about alt-trans in the QCs.  Bike, bus, or walk to the event for bonus points.  
 
Friday - May 15
ATW Wrap Up Party - 5 p.m.

Finish off your week at the 
Bier Garten behind Moline's 
Bier Stube [417-15 St].  
Prize drawings for the 
Car Free Challenge and 
Every Mile Counts Challenge!
