Period 8 Spanish I

WEEKLY SCHEDULE FOR May 26 - May 29
 
We will be finishing U3E3 this week.  We will review stem-changing verbs and have a writing over them this week.  We will also learn about making comparisons in Spanish.  We will learn the verb "saber " - to know.  We will learn a few more conversational phrases that will be included on the final.  We will learn some new vocabulary from the new unit, U4E1.  We will be reviewing "ser" and "estar" for the final, as well.

Monday, May18 - B.J. Highfill, Jeff H. - We did a practice spelling quiz for the quiz tomorrow.  We did a sports' vocabulary activity on a handout.  See Sra. Q.for the handout.  We did workbook page 67 Actividades 6 & 7 over sports' vocabulary. 
Tuesday, May 19 - B.J. Highfill, Jeff H. - We took the quiz over the sports' vocabulary.  We watched the DVD and did an activity over what we saw. 
Wednesday, May 20 - No class due to a 2:00 dismissal because of a funeral at the church.
Thursday, May 21 - B.J. H., Jasmine B. - We learned about stem-changing verbs today.  The verbs were "jugar (u-ue) - to play" and "pensar (e - i) - to think, plan + several more of the e-ie stem-changing verbs.  We did two classroom activities over stem-changing verbs.  The first one was a drawing that told in Spanish what sport you play and the second one was a photocopy sheet that you will need to get from Sra. Q. 
Friday, May 22 - B.J. H. - We did lots of work with stem-changing verbs.  Do workbook page 69, Actividad 11 over "jugar" and page 70, Actividades 14, 15, and 16 over e-ie stem-changing verbs.  Then, on a separate piece of paper, do these Actividades from the text:  page 198, Actividad 5, just write out the verbs; page 200, Actividad 9, write out the complete sentence and insert articles and other necessary words, if needed; page 208, Actividad 2, just write the verbs.  Turn in your workbook and the paper with the answers from to text to Sra. Q.
Wednesday, May 27 - Patron M. - We reviewed the words for comparison orally by making sentences in Spanish that compared people and sports.  Then we filled out an "HOLA" sheet with the "yo" and "nosotros" forms of all the stem-changing verbs except "jugar."  We played "HOLA" for about 25 minutes.  We will have a writing tomorrow over the stem-changing verbs.
Friday, May 28 - Logan C., Logan Y. - We spent a lot of time on the conversational paper.  We learned "Dónde está...? and other questions and answers.  You already received the study aids for the final.
