Qi Wu, PhD, received her doctoral degree in Information, Risk and Operations Management from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. She also holds master’s degrees in Mathematics and Statistics from University of South Carolina, and a bachelor’s degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.

Globalization and increased variety of products have impacted the uncertainty in both demand and supply. The changes, though gradual, have accumulated over time and posed enormous difficulties in planning procurement. Qi Wu studies strategies that help firms tackle this challenge using stochastic control and econometric models. She is particularly interested in problems related to assortment planning and the impact of risk and financial factors on operational decisions.
