It's that time of year where we're all getting a smidge stir crazy. How about doing something indoors and DIFFERENT with your family? The Rock Island Center for Math & Science (2101 16th Avenue, Rock Island) is hosting a Community STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Festival on January 24th from 5-7 PM. This event is FREE and all ages are welcome to attend. Some of the hands-on activities (geared primarily toward 3-8 graders) include creating ecological art, exploring robotics, and investigating wind power. This event is open to all local families. Consider bringing your kids to this event. An evening of fun learning would benefit them! Are your children registered yet for Imagination Library? United Way of the Quad Cities has a FREE program for all Scott and Rock Island County residents. If your child has not yet celebrated their 5th birthday, they are eligible for this program. There is no charge for this program. Each month your children will receive a new book in the mail. A new 8-week session of PACT (Parenting All Children Together) will be starting on January 6th. The program is designed for Scott County residents with children from birth-5 years old. Each session includes dinner, free child care, a free gift, and $40 worth of items chosen by the participant, and information to help your children be the best they can be.
