Welcome to (hopefully) one of the most comprehensive guides to fun, family activities in the Quad City & surrounding areas!
For the past five or six years, my "pet project" for my MOPS group has been to create the most comprehensive guide to summertime activities in the Quad Cities and (nearby) surrounding areas. Not just the big events that come to everyone's minds when they think "summer" but everything fun to try to fill your summertime. Since I am a stay-at-home mom of four kids, we're always on the lookout for fun activities that are also inexpensive activities... At last printing, my guide had grown to about 12 pages, and had updates all summer long. This online format allows my summer guide to grow to a year-round guide. So even though summer is over, this site will continue to be updated regularly with new activities. There are many events listed, but more will be added in the coming regularly, so please bookmark us and remember to keep checking back.
For those of you unfamiliar with my print guide, here's how it works: clicking on the category list (see sidebar, left) will bring up the activities under that heading. Each category will have some items that overlap, but most will be specific to that category. For example, the library may be having a one-time event that you'll only find listed on the "Calendar View" and perhaps the Blog (I try not to put the same info on the Site that's on the Blog, unless it warrants more information). If you want general information about the libraries, that's in the "Things To Do" section.
Our area really is a treasure trove of family fun! There are all kinds of activities out there (many are very family-affordable) to stretch your horizons.
I hope that you have fun with this site--spend some time exploring it to discover new activities each time--and spend your family time trying new things!
Enjoy!!
