The Spinman

The Spinman is the main character of the Spinman arcade game.
In the prototype version of the game it looks like the good old Pac-Man,
but it has the ability to spin pieces of the maze it lives in
and that's why I called it Spinman

Spinman's maze

Spinman's dynamic maze is built of small pieces of passages that can rotate.
The creatures that roam Spinman's maze as well is the Spinman itself
can spin those pieces - building up their way to safety, spoils or prey.

The idea of such maze wasn't mine, I have borrowed it from a very old,
not very famous East European tabletop game that I had when I was a little kid.
I don't have it anymore and unfortunately I don't remember what was its name.

Project status

Although the game you can download from the download page
can already be fun - it is not a complete game yet, but rather an example for games
that can be played in Spinman's dynamic constantly changing maze.

The gameplay (including rules and the goals of the game)
will change from time to time as I'll continue developing the game.
I hope to develop several variants of the game with different sets of rules and goals.
The game can be turn-based or real-time, single or multiplayer, etc.

Graphics/Music

As you can see, I'm not really good at graphics and I also limited by my RSI
(see also help "needed section" ),
and I have no idea how people make music.

So I'll be really glad if someone could contribute any music or graphics to the project.

If you will contribute music/graphics you will of course be credited for that in the game, on this site and wherever I'll be able to give you credit.
I can also place your e-mail address and/or a link to your website in the game and on this site.
If you wish, I can distribute the game along with a license for your art if you provide me be the one.

Thank you very much in advance.

Development

Currently I develop the game in Python using the pygame library.
You can visit the project's page at http://www.pygame.org/project/1268/?release_id=2207
You can download the source from the download.

These are my first "almost real" game and site,
I develop the game and work on the site without using my hands
(see also help "needed section" ),
so I hope you forgive me for all the typos, poor formatting, lack of comments and funny code style.
For now, I test the game on Windows XP only,
I have very little experience with other OS and I'm not aware of some of the portability issues.
If you find OS related problems, please tell me.

Thank you very much in advance.

If someone could correct my EnglishI would be grateful.

HELP NEEDED!!!

Since I suffer from severe RSI on both hands,
I work on this project without using my hands.

Somehow I manage writing the code and other texts you find on this site, but I can not play in my own game - too painful.
It's very frustrating.

I need people to play and make comments.
Please play my game and tell me what is cool and what isn't.
What to change, add, remove or improve.
What controls do you prefer, what makes it too easy or too hard and what changes are the most urgent for the game to be fun.

If you would like to contribute to the project
as a developer or an artist,
please read the Development and Graphics/Music sections.

If I'm online, you can Chat with me , and if I'm not -
You can find my contact details below.

Thank you very much in advance,
