The Putney Rowing Club is the host of the The Second 30th Annual Green Mountain Head Regatta! Sunday September 30, 2012
Large by sculling standards the event is known for its small town charm. The event is a 3.0 mile stake race for singles and doubles. It annually attracts about 300 participants. Racers range in age from 10 to 80 years with a range of racing experience. Many elite scullers enter to prepare for the other major head races in the area. It is held in the fall when the foliage is starting to turn. In 2011 the race will celebrate its 30th Anniversary.
