This is a variation of the Backward Loop Cast-on. It provides an elastic cast-on edge while providing a little more stability than the Backward Loop Cast-on. This technique requires that you either 1) twist the yarn as you form the loop, or 2) form the loop, twist it and then put it on the needle. I find option 1) easier, so that's what I'm sharing with you here. Once the loop is on the needle, snug it up by pulling on the yarn tail. Be consistent in this snugging-up process to provide an even tension for the newly cast-on stitches. |
