Free Pattern: Organic Cotton Herbal Dream Pillow

This miniature pillow can ease those sleepless nights and help you float off to sleep. Fill the pillow with organic cotton batting or flannelet dabbed with your favourite relaxing herbal essential oil or combination of oils (check with your local herbalist or natural food store for recommendations). Then place your Herbal Dream Pillow under your pillow or inside your pillow case and drift off.

This knit pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters.

Free Pattern: Tuck and Cover Scarflette


This unique little scarflet features a tunnel to tuck the end of the scarf through to make sure it stays snug and keeps you warm.

The tunnel front is knit in Bamboo stitch and the scarflet is knit in Horizontal Herringbone stitch.

This is a quick knit project. Make sure you choose a very soft wool or blend that will be cozy against your skin.

The yarn used in the sample is a Bernat Natural Soy, a soy/acrylic blend with a little sheen to it. Very soft and easy on the hands.

Knitting this in white in a shiny silk or bamboo would make a beautiful tuxedo accessory.

A wonderfully textured scarf in 3 versions; notice how the Garter Stitch and Reverse Stocking Stitch (shown at the bottom and top of the photo respectively) versions “pop” the Twisted Rib stitches, while the Stockinette version (shown in the middle) is more subtle and subdued.

Instructions are given for all 3 options and for  3 different lengths: 48”, 60” and 72” [122, 152, 183cm].

Yarn: Worsted Weight; approx. 280(350,420) yds [260(320,390) m]
Needles: 5mm [US 8]
Finished Width: 7 inches [ 18cm]

The pattern is a 2 row repeat -- so easy to learn/remember that you'll want to make several of these scarves in different colours.
