Pure Country Band

The Pure Country Band was first formed on December 31st, 2004 for what was to be a one night engagement only. A New Year's Eve party at a small tavern in Parkers Prairie, MN. The response was good that night and other opportunities soon followed.
From the start the three piece band intended to cover songs from the 40's to the 70's , an era when country western music had a lot of heart and soul. Striving, in song, to remember such legends as Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Johnny Horton, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizzell, Hank Snow, Ferlin Husky and many many others.
The memories that the songs bring back to people is a large part of the reward the band experiences. Meeting new people and seeing old friends on a regular basis makes for a great time with great fans.
Founding member Gary Gylsen sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar. Gary's immense song repertoire and historical knowledge of these legends delivered with a deep, warm and melodic voice entertains both young and old. Gary also writes and performs some of his own songs and last year he reached a personal goal when he was invited to perform on stage at the Midwest Country Theatre at Sandstone Minnesota and featured on RFD TV.
Also with us is original lead guitarist and vocalist Henry "Hank" Higgs . Along with his soothing vocals Henry's guitar rifs have a flavor reminiscent of Luther Perkins himself .
Keeping that steady country tempo is Dan Winter on drums. He helps with backup vocals and also provides sound production to ensure an enjoyable listening experience.
In addition to their full-time jobs, the guys enjoy playing 60-70 shows each year, entertaining folks at weddings, anniversaries, parties and barn dances and are also regulars at many local VFW's, Eagles and other dancehall clubs.

Weekends, good friends, making music, dancing and having fun.  All Pure Country Blessings!!                       YEEE-HAAAW
