When: 29th Nov 2009 - 6:30 AM gather at Sihangadh base, 6:45 AM race
Type: Mass start race
Track: Sihangad base to top (Rough tar road, Mountainous terrain)
Distance: 9 kms approx

Sinhagad , a jewel of Shivaji's empire, is just 25 to 30 kilometers from Pune city. It attracts hordes of Puneites regularly. It is a popular hiking/ rock-climbing destination for Pune's trekkers. Pune's cycling community has discovered it too, and we know it is a great ride. The elation when you climb the steep slopes and watch the Sahyadri hills from the top is unparalleled. The mighty fortress will witness a group of warriors on 29.11.09, on wheels and not horses. The winners will stand tall, the rest will go home feeling proud too!
It will be a spectacle, we tell ya'. Mark your calendars, set your sight on the south-east.

Note: The race started from the Panshet-Sinhagad junction, not from the Sinhagad security checkpost. This junction comes 1.6 kms before the security checkpost while climbing Sinhagad. Thunderbolts Bicycle Championship (PBCh 1)

The PBCh came into existance via a mail from Bani to PCE mailing list, who wanted to start a community championship. The first one was a big success in terms of organizing and participation. Then we thought of extending it. Featured in the logo is none other than Sumit Pal, winner of this race :)
