Two subgroups have been tasked with making specific recommendations to Ecology and the Partnership by the end of October 2010. They submitted draft reports to the SWG on September 16. Their revised draft reports are due to the SWG by October 7. The SWG will vote on the recommendations therein on October 13 and will approve final reports on October 26, 2010.
The cost and pay-in subgroup is charged with recommending specifics to establish the pay-in option and allocate and prioritize costs so that Ecology can realistically include the pay-in option in the next cycle of permits and the Partnership can include the program in their budget estimates for implementing the Action Agenda to restore Puget Sound by 2020.
The permit monitoring elements and context subgroup (initially called "everything else" is charged with, as they are able, providing more technical detail and implementation specifics about the experimental designs and approaches; costs, cost allocations, and priorities; and how the strategy is envisioned to fit into the permits. The subgroup will prioritize issues to address among those listed in the June 23 paper which summarizes issues raised during the May 2010 comment period that remain to be addressed. |
