Next meeting: TBD, likely after draft permit issued in OctSubgroup members:Co-chairs: Neil Aaland and Andy Meyer.Participants: Sarah Brace, Allison Butcher, John Clemens, Leska Fore, Michelle Harvey, Melva Hill, Sandy Howard, Jocelyn Jones, Adam Lorio, Michelle Nelson, Joyce Nichols, Tom Putnam, Jim Simmonds.Staff: Karen DinicolaThis subgroup is planning strategies and drafting materials for communicating the SWG's recommendations to local government elected officials and staff in advance of Ecology's release of the draft NPDES municipal stormwater permit monitoring requirements. Having delivered our Recommendations for Municipal Stormwater Permit Monitoring to Ecology at the end of October, we have a window of opportunity before Ecology releases draft permit monitoring language to get our message out to as many people as possible. We want to be certain that local jurisdictions and others know about the SWG's work and understand what the recommendations mean for local governments, as well as all of the work and process that went into developing the recommendations. Current task: There is a need to continue conducting outreach with local elected officials. Many have had some initial exposure to the work done by the SWG. Now that the recommendations have been issued, the need is different now. We need to set the stage about the work that went into this. Proposed products and actions are listed in the Communications Work Plan posted below.
