"What is a Life Worth?: A Hollywood producer joins us to talk about his movie “Bella” and the theme of human rights"
What does it mean for us to be "whole life"? Jason Jones, producer of the movies "Bella" and "The Stoning of Soraya M.", helped us to answer this question.
Jason, a post-abortive father at the age of 17 and a convert to the Catholic faith, has spent his life supporting the culture of life. Early on for him, that meant going door-to-door to talk with others about abortion, and most recently, traveling to the Darfur region of Sudan to meet with refugees, distribute food, medicine, and other aid to them, and to oversee the installation of water wells within the region.
Jason's Hero Project has provided DVDs of "Bella" to expectant mothers in crisis pregnancies since the movie's release. Since then, over 180 mothers have chosen life for their child.
Check out Jason's new website, www.iamwholelife.com. Sign the Whole Life pledge, become a member, and make a difference.
ABOUT JASON: Jason S. Jones is a convert to the Catholic faith, and the co-executive producer of the movie “Bella,” winner of the 2006 Toronto International Film Festival People’s Choice Award. Jason has also produced several documentaries, and served as associate producer of, “Dead in the Water,” a documentary that aired nationally in the fall of 2007 on EWTN.
Jason is the founder of “Whole Life America,” a non-profit organization that promotes the dignity of the human person regardless of ability, age, status, race or geography. His pro-life work has included serving as National Youth Director for the “American Life League,” and serving as the Public Relations
Director for “Human Life International.” His appearances on local, nationally syndicated, and international radio and television programs include ABC’s “Politically Incorrect” and numerous talk shows and news programs. His pro-life work began while attending the University of Hawaii, where he formed the
Pro-Life Student Union, was chairman of Young Americans for Freedom-Hawaii, and was chairman of the Hawaii Young Republicans.
Jason acquired his experience in media by running political campaigns at the local, state and national level. In 2004, he worked for the Republican National Committee, and in 2007 he was asked to serve as National Grassroots Director for “Brownback for President.”

Jesus said to Peter, "I tell you, forgive your brother not seven times, but seven times seventy." Matthew 18: 21-22.If you have ever forgiven someone for something they did to you, then you know how hard this can be. But, imagine forgiving someone for taking the life of your son.

What does it mean to "be" a bishop? ...how do you lead by example? ...does the bishop go grocery shopping? Our own Bishop Arthur Tafoya joined us to share his thoughts on these questions, and others.
While admitting that there really isn't anything such as "bishop training", the bishop felt that he has learned to lead through his own experiences as a priest and bishop, which has included visiting the sick in hospitals, saying mass for and hearing the confessions of those in prison, and teaching others to forgive when it might be hard to do so -- ministries that we can each make ourselves part of in sharing the love of Christ with others.

"Dare to Love: A talk on relationships, the opposite sex, and how to better appreciate your loved ones"
What does it mean to love someone? Recently, the movie "Fireproof" and the book "The Love Dare" are getting many more to explore and discuss this question.
Married couple Dave and Catherine DiNuzzo answered this question and offered their own thoughts on how to truly appreciate your spouse, significant other, and friends.
ABOUT DAVE AND CATHERINE: Dave has been speaking publicly about the Christian faith journey for over 13 years (since 1995). His is a journey away from his Catholic roots to a protestant, evangelical-Christian life. In his search for the truth, Dave realized that the joy he saw in his friends was the joy of possessing the truth of the Catholic faith and returned to our wonderful Church. He has spent years studying scripture and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in Theology from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. There, he studied under some of the leading Catholic scripture scholars in America. After graduation, Dave joined FOCUS (the Fellowship Of Catholic University Students) as a missionary and moved to Colorado to begin his work in forming and developing the young men and women of the United States Air Force Academy in their faith. Dave continues in full-time ministry as the Catholic Young Adult Ministry Coordinator at the Air Force Academy. He is a 3rd degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, a member of the planning committee for the first-ever Rocky Mountain Catholic Men’s Conference, the founder of both DiNuzzo Enterprises, LLC and Pro Veritas Ministries, as well as a frequent volunteer with the Patriot Guard Riders.
Catherine holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. She is currently a counselor at Rampart High School in Colorado Springs where she works tirelessly with students and parents on the every day issues that effect our youth. Her faith journey has been very unique and inspiring. During college and graduate school, Catherine was living an exhilarating and riveting life. She searched for love in a life of parties, extreme adventure and world-travel, but realized the only way to fill the hole in her heart was to allow God to fill it with His love and compassion. Catherine then devoted her life to living God’s call and has never turned back. Catherine volunteers her time with several organizations and groups. Her favorite thing to do is to be a great mother to the couple’s young daughters, Lily and Emma.

"Jesus Rode a Donkey, but Would He Have Ridden an Elephant?: Opposing Views from Both Political Parties on the Upcoming Election, Politics and Faith"
With less than two months to go before election day, we tried to form opinions to this question with the help of three well-versed members of our greater community: Jennifer Kraska, from the Colorado Catholic Conference, Larry Howe-Kerr, who represented the Democratic party, and Sean McCarthy, who represented the Republican party.
Tackling questions which included what America's role should be in the Middle East, the nation's immigration policy, and others, our guests summarized their party's stance on the subject and then expressed how their own feelings differed, and why. Following up on each question, Jennifer explained the Church's view.

"If Life is a Highway are You Heading North or South?"
What does a 70 year-old that looks forward to karaoke every Wednesday night at the local tavern have to teach us about how to live our lives? ...that whatever our calling may be, we should pursue what truly fulfills us, knowing that God will support us. Father Patrick Hannon joined us to share the experience of finding his own vocation, and related to us how we might approach finding our own.
ABOUT FATHER PAT: Father Patrick Hannon is an award-winning author and a renowned speaker. Father Pat is a Holy Cross priest from Oakland, California. His followup book, The Geography of God's Mercy, is just as outstanding and tells personal stories that delve into the deeper meaning and importance of forgiveness.

"School Shootings and Other Bad Things; How to Find God Through Tragedy"
"...if you were shot today, do you think you'd go to Heaven?" This was the question that the bishop asked Ben Schumann's confirmation class just one week before the Columbine High School shooting. Having been in the school when the shooting occurred and making it to safety, Ben has been asking God why his life was spared ever since.
Ben, currently a youth minister at a parish in Littleton, Colorado, shared his experiences with a group of over 30 young adults at Theology on Tap's April get-together. Ben related his life since high school, which included his journey to the seminary, his missionary work throughout Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Carribean, describing how each has served to shape his life and his faith since.
