When WFC Optimus Prime's toy images came out, I never thought about buying him. The chest, the thighs, the non realistic alternate
mode, he is just not convince eoungh for me to put him in my W list. When I went out shopping a figure for my son, I bought the
activator Bumblebee. But since TRU had buy 1 get 1 50% sale, I have to buy another one but can't decedie which one (as my W list are
not yet available), I saw this WFC OP and he looks better than from images. So I bought him to get this deal but still wondering to
keep him or not. Glad I did.
Optimus Prime's alternate mode is a cybertronian truck. Nothing exciting about this mode, really, as my preference is transformers
alternate mode should be in disguise like or close to a real human objects. This truck has 6 wheels and it rolls okay. Prime's face
can be seen from the bottom but since this is the cybertronian mode, no body cares about to be in disguise. From the look of this
truck, he looks like a shell former but he is not.
The transformation is complicate, especially from robot back to truck. He is almost the most complicate deluxe class I've ever seen.
I've been messing with him for more than 15 minutes and still could not figure out how to transform him to truck mode right,
especially at the legs. Then I finally gave up and took a peek at the instruction, found out the knee has to push in so the legs are
short enough to fold into the body. Damn! What a nice hidden gimmick.
Prime's robot mode looks really nice, at least not what I thought initially. The bulky chest makes him look strong and tough. The
limbs have basic articulations and they all move well and tight and he can put up some good poses. The truck cab hangs on his
back but at least not bothering that much. Initially he is kind of back heavy, then I found another gimmick which is not covered in
the instruction. By sliding his feet backward, even though he may look a little bit short toe, can provide him a much, much better
balance. The only minor issue I have is his shoulder joints. They do not lock with his chest so after some arm movements, the
shoulders will kind of slide down. He has two peg holes on each arm and can fit in his gun, that means he now has 3 extra peg
holes. So I got 3 other weapons and put all on him, he now looks awasome and badass. I hope he can do that in the game, too.
Also on the back of the tires, there are two more holes that can put/store weapons. This is way awesome.
By the way, the game War For Cybertron is so great. I enjoy it so much and have a lot of fun.
Transformation: 6 - Over complicate transformation for a deluxe class and definitely need help from instruction for the first
time. Need to be gentle when doing all the rotations, you don't want to make any stress mark.
Fun: 9 - Vehicle mode is not much to talk about but the robot mode is awesome plus he can have up to six weapons.
Display: 7 - I don't think I will display him in truck mode. Robot mode is great.
Value: 8 - He worths at regular price $11.99 from TRU.
Overall: 8 - He is a nice figure with complicate transformation and fun robot mode. Nearly perfect if the shoulder
joints can lock to a place with chest and if they can find a better way to deal with the truck cab.
