Megatron

War For Cybertron (WFC) is a great game and WFC Prime is a great figure. But he is too lonely standing along. Even though WFC
Soundwave is a must buy for me, I intend to use him to fill in the classics gap and he is not available yet. But Megatron is. Since the
Generation wave 2 has not yet to be seen in MN, I found them on my trip to Chicago. This Megatron isn't that convinced for me to buy
initially, but so did Prime. So I got him to hope he will be good and my WFC Prime won't be so along also.

Megatron's alternate mode is a Cybertronian tank, exactly like what he looks in the game. He has two different modes here, the hover
mode and tank mode. The only difference is in hover mode, the wheels (treads) are folded up where in tank mode, the wheels are
down so you can roll. Personally I prefer hover mode which looks better. The wheels aren't really work well and meaningless. Same
like Prime, the alternate mode isn't much special as I prefer real or close to real human things.

Unlike Prime, Megatron's transformation isn't that hard as Prime is actually over complicated. For my first transformation, I got some
troubles trying to figure out how to squeeze in the shoulder part but then just realized I didn't put enough force to push them in for
the fear of breaking anything. Megatron's robot mode is fairly nice, a very good toy IMO. He is very clean from the look. There are no
additional kibbles hanging here or there. No parts will easily pop off or drop. The huge decepticon mark can easily be seen on his
back instead of being blocked like Prime. He is quite poseable and well balanced thanks to the wide and flat feet. He has ankle joints
so that his feet can stay flat on the surface even with the legs open wide. The empty space on back of his legs (because of tank mode)
can allow his knee to bend much more than 90 degrees. It's a shame the feet cannot bend down much but up. While his legs are so
well articulated, his arms are really not. The big shoulder totally limits his arm from sliding, which makes doing his signature pose of
pointing the fusion cannon to the side impossible. He also has the open palm (a somewhat modern design for the good look but not
practical) but cannot hold anything in his hand. While Prime can apply up to 6 weapons on his body, Megatron can only have one.
There are no other places or peg holes to put any additional standard weapon on. No wonder he always loose. Talking about the
famous fusion cannon, yes, he has a big one can attach to either arm. The problem is the missile triggering button is right on top in
the middle, which can easily be pressed during transformation or arm movement. This makes him trigger happy which I don't blame
him but I have to look for the accidentally firing missile on the floor so many times. Better way is to just remove the missle instead
of storing it in.

Transformation: 8 - Not complicate but never thought about have to apply that much force to push the shoulder in.
Fun: 8 - A great toy. Sturdy, well balanced, no flipping kibbles, and poseable. Only if his arms can move to the side freely, he has at
least two fist holes to hold some additional things instead of the useless open palms, and his fusion cannon is not that trigger
happy, he will be perfect.
Display: 8 - Great in robot mode even with limited arm movement. Tank mode, pass.
Value: 8 - $11.99 from TRU. Hoping will find him at Target while they still have $9.99 for the deluxe class. Edit: got one from Target
now. Raise his value to 8.
Overall: 8 - He is a good toy. Easier to play and hold for younger kids than Prime. Only if without the issues mentioned above, he can
be a much better toy. But not even Prime is perfect.
