I am thinking about getting a Galvatron for long. But since the Universe 2.0 is notoriously being named the worst Transformers that have ever made but still have a high price, I've always hesitated on getting one. One night while sitting at my desk and looking up, I saw WFC Optimus Prime and Megatron standing up there side by side. They don’t grow in me that much more for now and they were really separated from my bigger Classics collection and very minor movie collection. Suddenly light bulb was lit and I got an idea, “why don’t I repaint him to Galvatron?”

With the recent success on painting and customizing figures, especially on Jazz, Windcharger, and Megatron, I grew quite a bit of confidence doing so. First step, I need a new head. So I started hunting for his head. Still, Universe’s Galvatron is expensive especially now Cyclonus and Scourge are quite available and nobody is selling a broken one. I quickly gave up on this route. Then I saw from an online custom which is using Drift’s head. Yeah, Drift is cheaper and easier to get. But after examining my own Drift, I found his neck is totally different than what I need and it might require a lot of cutting and gluing that are beyond I current skill, plus his face isn’t evil enough. I then gave up as well. After more thinking, I figured probably all I need was just making a crown on top of the existing Megatron’s head and that should be good enough being like Gavlatron. So I took out some old Gundam models that I separated them apart long ago looking for parts and ideas. Finally I found them. One is from a panel inside Gouf Custom’s shield and another one is from a piece on Zaku III Custom’s engine booster. After some cutting and trimming, I made his crown.
