In TF, everybody knows the two iconic figures are Optimus Prime and Megatron. For Prime, he is pretty much always the
four-wheel thing (or at least). But Megatron has varieties of images in each series such as a gun, jet, tank, dragon, car, helicopter,
etc. That some times makes me feel hard to pick him up because I don't know which mode I like. And now I finally got one.
In the Cybertron series, he is a car. To make it more clear, he is like a batmobile, especially like this one. I belive Bruce will
definitely wants this one to come in black. This is a really great looking car: big, sleek and stylish. He is about 1 to 2 inches
longer than my ROTF leader Prime (as I don't have too much leader class figures to compare with). The engine turbine on the back
works perfectly and the huge rear wheels are perfect fit to describe his power and speed. Since mine is the second hand, the
center clip connecting his back and chest is a little bit loose but it is okay. It also uses a lot of soft rubber for child safety but
some of them are bent (especially the car nose). The four wheels line up pretty well. Give it a push, it goes very far and straight
on the hard wood floor, unlike many other cars that goes in random direction. My son and I have some fun pushing him
back and forth.
Jet? What jet?
Even though my second hand comes in with the instruction, I have no trouble transforming him to robot mode without it. His
robot mode overall looks very nice, too. The only odd thing is his chest is kind of hollow if you look from the side. Maybe
because of the second hand or he is originally like this, the hip joints are somewhat loose. So he is kind of hard to stand straight
since he is back heavy. Maybe I should take the batteries out to reduce the weight since the light and sound feature does not
sounds quite well in this one. Besides his balance issue, he is actually very posable. He has two weapons and they works just
like in cartoon. When I saw his gun in the cartoon, I kind of laughed at it. A somewhat kids water gun style gun that blows away
so many autobots, comparing to Prime's two huge ones that are pretty much doing the same thing. But well, a gun is a gun and
it is in a decent size. The claw is just an additional thing. Overall, thanks to the previous owner that still keeps him in a good
condition and comes in with the instruction and wrong planet key.
Transformation: 7 - Easy enough that I don't need instruction, but the design is well. What jet?
Fun: 9 - Batmobile is beautiful to display and fun to roll. Robot mode is posable with two weapons. Great. Jet? I forgot.
Display: 9 - Batmobile looks so nice but I lack of such space to put him. Better put in robot mode since he is quite poseable.
Value: 10 - $15.5 plus $13 for shipping from eBay comes complete with wrong planet key. I say this is a good buy.
Overall: 9 - This is my first Megatron. It has two great mode to display and play. Some times he is a pain to balance but so many
transformers have the same issue and he is better than some others. I still think he has too many colors wide spread on him to
make my eyes fuzzy. The repainted Galvatron looks better but this is the best offer I can get.
