Movie - ROTF‎ > ‎

Thrust

When I first saw Breakaway, I was amazed by the F-35 Lighting II mode. It looks so realistic and almost one of the best I have ever
seen. The robot mode is not too bad also. From the pictures, it looks posable and well balanced. But his color scheme and paint
jobs are not the type I like, and more importantly, where is the head? So I easily passed him.

Recently, I felt like I need more Decepticons to balance the battle and then I saw the repaint of Breakaway (it's about time also) -
Thrust - with his maroon like color (my favorite color) and much better paint jobs, plus he is a Decepticon. I decided to hunt him
and after few weeks finally found him.

The jet mode is just simply perfect. Comparing to my classics deluxe Starscream, this F-35 is just more like a jet than SS's F-15.
There is no empty spot below, no oversized rocked, and most importly, he has the landing gear. Nice! The robot parts are much
better hidden than the movie Starscream, but the hard to notice robot head in the robot mode is easy to see in the jet mode.

After transformation, same problem, where is the head? I don't know whose idea to have this kind of design but I much, much
prefer to see if the head can be more noticable. There is still a lot of sapce to use to have better design (like Mixmaster, you can
pull out his head like a turtle). Other than this, the robot mode is fairly nice. He is well balanced and somewhat posable. Behind
the knee there is an extra armor that actually limits the bending angle but is okay. It would be better if his hands are on ball
joints so they can be rotated to form more posing. I tried to change him into Macross style hybrid/gerwalk/gurdian mode, it is
doable but does not look that good.

Transformation: 7 - Simple but nice. The two modes look good except the head.
Fun: 8 - The jet mode rocks with front landing gear and the chain gun in robot mode rotates. Somewhat posable exept the head.
Display: 7 - Jet mode is good but if you need more spare space, robot mode isn't bad either but he just looks wacky.
Value: 8 - $10 even on sale price from Walmart.
Overall: 7 - I like his color scheme and paint jobs much better than Breakaway. He is a good figure in both modes but the head
thing does draw the score down.
