This is the first figure that I bought and then returned back to store. Not even like some others, kept it for a while, hated it, and then
sold it on eBay. I shouldn't even give him a review since I owned him less than two days. The reason for returning is not because of if
he has any physical problems but here are the reasons why.
Mindwipe's alternate mode is a much better realistic F-117 than Universe Blaster/Cybertron Soundwave. Instead of being a pure
black, he is actually in a dark green, more like the army green. This jet is very sturdy. Everything is connected very tight. But that's it.
He is just a jet. No gimmicks, no missiles, no bombs, nothing. Just a jet with landing gears and the robot kibbles are very easy to be
seen from the bottom.
After a not very complicate but need a lot of brute force transformation, Mindwipe transforms from a bulky and wide jet to a tall and
thin robot. He is slightly taller than average voyager class and he has the Goofy feet which makes him stand well but looks
cartoonish. Like his jet mode, he is very sturdy, poseable, and well balanced. His overall look looks nice but just feels like missing
something. My guess is the weapons. Yes, he pretty much has no weapons, only those two pathetic baldes underneath his hands and
they don't work so well also. I know he is a mind control master so he probably don't need any weapons but what with a voyager
class figure that just looks like a bigger size of scout class or even legend class whom usually don't have weapons but just a figure,
just like his jet mode. Sometimes a weapon defines a character, such as old Megatron's big arm cannon, animated Ultra Magnus's big
hammer, movie Bumblee's right hand gun, and movie Prime's energon blades. Even terrible as movie Jetfire has that walking stick.
But him, even with those two little blades, I still feel he has no characteristics and styles, just a robot toy. Bludgeon never shows up
in the movie but he is a terrific figure, a samurai with two blades. That is his characteristic, but I don't feel that on Mindwipe. It could
be different if he has many or big weapons to show-off, some items to support his mind control, or has a very customizable body to
change his looks. Unfortunately he has none of those, just a transformable robot toy.
Transformation: 6 - Not difficult but I need to use some brute force to disconnect some very tight panels.
Fun: 3 - A jet that is good to display but will take out a lot of space. A robot figure with only two small blades. I tried and couldn't
find any much fun out of him. The shoulder thing doesn't count and doesn't help. The joke I have in the pictures is the best I can
make out of him. But it's other figures' help to make it fun.
Display: 9 - Honestly, he looks really good in either mode. Watch out for his jet mode takes out some space.
Value: 6 - $19.99 a voyager class from Target is reasonable but he does not worth it.
Overall: 5 - I tried to convince myself to like him but I can't. I can't find any reasons that will make me like him. Maybe I don't know
his characteristics well. As terrible as movie Jetfire, at least I like him because he can combine with Prime to that upgraded Prime.
This is not a bad figure after all but just not my taste. Sorry, I have to return you.
