I've never been a fan of Ironhide in either movies no matter how many summersaults he did. And he is the one keeps having
remold after another and I always picked him up, laughed at him, and put him back, even in the beginning when I saw this
last (maybe) remold of Recon (Jungle) Ironhide. Guess I have a big weakness on seeing many and big weapons bots. I changed
my mind picked him up at the same time when I got Bludgeon.
Another reason I don't like Ironhide is I've never been a fan of pick up truck which is what he is. Put aside personal feeling, this
customized GMC Topkick is really highly detailed. It is heavy and all tires are lined up pretty well and rolls smoothly. All the
guns (include those at the bottom) and knifes can be removed from the truck so it will look more like a real truck, or can be
put on the truck to make it looks like a military truck (whatever). The bumper and fog light are great new additions to add on
to the truck. However, the grenade missile (??) has no where to store. Putting it in on another side of left arm gun to store does
look strange.
After a kind of messy transformation, Ironhide stands up tall looking strong and tough and shaky. Start from bottom. The feet
and legs are very well detailed and painted and the automorph gimmicks are cool. Only the duck feet (flat fleet) do look kind of
strange. The hip joints are somewhat loose on mine but at least he still stands well. Now to the upper body. The upper body
looks kind of messy. The chest and shoulder panels, the roof, and the back door panels are just hanging there that they don't
really have some places to put them tight. But at least I can customize to my own preference. The arm ratch joints are really
tight on mine so many times when I tried to raise his arms, the waist connector will be easily detached. So most of the time
when I try to move his arms, I have to hold his uppder body above waist at the same time also. Now to the sweet spot, the
weapons. Besides Ironhide's signature arm guns (the left arm has been converted to bowgun style grenade launcher), he has
additional rifle gun and chain gun that can be holding individually on each hand or combined or attached on either arms. Plus
one Rambo knife and one bayonet. This is totally sweet. They are so customizable and make the entire figure looks so good.
Because of the Bludgeon factor, I painted all his bars, bumper, and knifes to silver and little spots to black. The figure now
looks even more valuable.
Transformation: 6 - Complicated and challenging enough but I don't need instruction to confuse me. There are parts that need
to move first before others move. Putting back to truck is challenging and some times frustrating.
Fun: 10 - Always fun with a robot with lots of weapons.
Display: 9 - He looks good in either mode.
Value: 9 - $19.97 from Walmart is a reasonable price and he has varieties of accessories.
Overall: 8 - To me, Ironhide is almost nothing without those weapons. You got what I mean.
