Movie - ROTF‎ > ‎

Hubcap

As I tried to control myself to focus mostly on classics line and minor on movie line, recently just find it's hard to keep the movie
line numbers down. The reason is movie line mostly has the alternate mode that fits well with my preference even though many of
the robot modes are okay. Hubcap just fit right into this category and I bought him in a very early time of the new release.

Normally I am not a big fan of classic cars but when I saw Hubcap's alternate mode, I was hooked and I think I bought him because
of this reason. Hubcap's alternate mode is a 30s-40s classic car with sports engine upgrade. This car can be easily seen from the
movies with gang members standing on the side bar shooting. As a scout class, it is very detailed and the silver paint job is really
nice (beware of the paint scratch, though). The divide line distributes very well so they aren't that obvious. Just don't look from
the bottom, it's really hard to tell this is a transformer. The only let down I have for this car is the front right tire does not touch
the ground well. So he kind of looks like need some tire alignments.

Transformation is super easy comparing to some of the ROTF line scout class. His robot mode looks okay but something just feel
not that right. First is the feet. He has the Gundam style feet which looks good with Gundam but fits strangely with transformers.
Second is his forearms. They kind of bend outside and would look better if they are straight. The last one is the common issue. He
has no weapons at all. No even anything mounted on his body can pretend to be. And also since he has the open palm, it's almost
impossible to find anything for him to hold. Luckily I find a Gundam Gouf sword that can at least hang on his hand. Arms
movement is good but the legs movements is very limited due to the extra big chunk of car kibbles on the back of the legs. All
joints are pretty tight and he has good balance.

Transformation: 3 - Trust me, he is very easy.
Fun: 5 - No weapons, lack legs movement, need tire alignment. But at least he is easy to transform back and forth.
Display: 9 - The classic car mode is a beauty. Very well disguised except from the bottom. Robot mode looks good, either.
Value: 6 - $9.89 from Kohl's is kind of expensive but by looking at that car mode can make me feel a little bit better.
Overall: 6 - If you love the classic car look, this is a must have. If not, can probably wait for discount. A good figure after all and
also a very easy transformation that I think kids can easily do by themselves (haven't tried on my kids yet).
