"Breacher is a cool figure." "Who?" "Breacher!" "Who??" "Ah!!! Heck...." Breacher is a new character that Hasbro/Takara built for a rubish
character Sea Spray. So there is no background to support him beside the bio on the box. But I like this figure and I think he is quite
popular. Guess the main reason is because his face is sooooooo Japan-ish.
Breacher's alternate mode is an amphibious APC vehicle. He is very highly detailed and the turret can be rotated freely. All six tires are lined
up pretty well and rolls smoothly. Robot kibbles have been hidden very well underneath and no parts are sticking out. I really like this
pocket size car and he feels very solid, not hollow.
Transforming him reminds me so much of transforming Straxus even though they have completely different scheme. But the similarities
are the leg caps and the panels interferencing transformation. As a scout class, he has at the level of deluxe or even voyager class level
transformation. It's not super complicate but complicate enough for his size especially the arm panels are so much in the way during arm
folding. Even though he is really not child friendly, his robots mode is awesome. Still very detailed and colored so well. He has enough
articulations to make him pose so well and still keep very good balance. There are no vehicle parts on his body to limit any poseability (
Hubcap, you know who I am talking to). Only problems are, similar to alternator Sunstreaker, he has a piece hanging on the hip like
tailcoat and his back is a little bit hollow. He deserves a voyager class and with a little tweek and adding some more articulations, he will
be a decent figure. Most importantly, unlike most of the small size figures, he has a weapon! A real meaningful weapon which is his
turret. As this is recently Hasbro's modern design, he has a gun on a 3mm clips mounted on ball joint and there are multiple mounting
spots (5) on his body to switch places. Two on the fist, two on the arm panel (door), and one on the back. With this add on weapon and
his poseability, Hubcap now really looks like a piece of crap. He can even clip on others' weapon such as Recon Ironhide's rifle or
Straxus's clip on weapons. Now to his face. I don't know why Hasbro put him in the movie continuous line Hunt For The Decepticons
because his face is totally not movieverse, besides he looks very Japan-ish. He has a mouth that is mostly being used on the cartoon
and impossible doing it on the moive. Unlike some of the post movie figures that don't feel like belonging anywhere, Breacher fits so
well with the classics/universe/generation line. Or he should be in this line.
Transformation: 7 - A little bit over complicate for his size but the two modes are decent.
Fun: 10 - A really nice APC vehicle and a decent robot mode with a weapon, this makes him so fun and a wonderful pocket toy.
Display: 9 - He displays nicely in either mode. Just don't look from the back in robot mode.
Value: 7 - Yikes! As most stores (besides TRU) are dropping deluxe class price down to $9, scout class remains $8.99 at Target.
Overall: 8 - He is a decent figure to fit wil my classics, besides his ove complicate transformation and hollow back.
