Barricade's appearance in the movie remains mystery but his toy line is not. Either being killed by Prime after Bonecrusher or still
hiding away, he got few toys in the ROTF line including this, Human Alliance Barricade. Being his fan in his alternate mode, plus my
first movie deluxe one's paint has been pretty much scratched by my son (actually bought a secondary replacement but sold right
away after I saw this HA version), I really want this version and will not let my son to touch it until he grows up.
The biggest winner of Barricade's deluxe class is the police car mode. Same here, Barricade's alternate mode does not disappoint me
at all. Same quality like Bumblebee's (and same thicker body than deluxe and real car), this is a really nice police car. It is very
sturdy, rolls perfectly on the floor, and highly detailed. His interior, includes sterring wheel, seats, and fascia all look better than
BB's. I actually like the deluxe version's light bar more than this one, but this one looks okay, too. Not a human but a robot in the
Human Alliance line, Frenzy is included. He is smaller than the deluxe version but has much better articulations to move around. In
the car mode, he can either be in the car or hide in the engine.
The transformation scheme is very similar to his deluxe version, but much better. The robot mode looks so much better and also
very close to what he looks in the movie. But he has the same problem, the legs. The hip joint is the strangest thing I've ever seen
and it actually only allows the leg to move left and right, not forward and backward. His knee cannot bend much or even knee down
becuase the back of the cars is totally in the way. Make him stand straight and still is still a challenge but at least much easier than
the deluxe one. Now moving up. The arms and hands are much better now. He really have fingers this time, but only the right hand.
These fingers are nice and can actually grab things. The left hand is replaced by the much better spring punch, and this time the
wheel has spinning spikes. Nice! I still prefer folding the shoulder down instead of going up as in the movie. But this one cannot
fold outward as the deluxe one but inward and flip the doors up looks very good to me also. Twisting his right arm and shoulder
can form a missile seat for Frenzy to sit. There are also two hidden chest cannons that can fold out for Frenzy to grab, but they
don't look like cannons at all, more like joysticks. His head is much better sculptured this time. The extra fun part is his mouth
can actually open like shouting "Where is the glasses!!!".
Transformation: 9 - Every place is connected tightly and transformation is very similar to the deluxe version and still very movie
accurate. Less twist than same class Bumblebee.
Fun: 9 - He is totally fun in either mode, especially there is a Frenzy. Not if his legs causing balance issue, he will be prefectly fun.
Display: 9 - Car is excellent to display at any place. Robot mode is good, too, but have to watch out the balance.
Value: 8 - $29.97 from Walmart. Is not cheap but worth money for this figure.
Overall: 9 - A very nice and fun figure to play and display. His legs balance issue could be still a pain but overall he is great. A
much better improvement from the deluxe one (Sidewipe is actually on the other hand).
