Clocker

This is the reason I like Once Upon A Child at Minnetonka very much. Besides couple of their female clerks are very good looking, if I’m lucky and patient enough, I can find very good condition Transformers there with very cheap price. Sometimes even unopened figures like this one, Clocker.

Clocker is a direct repaint from Cybertron into this movie series. Since there is no single mold change but straight repaint, I don’t think he belongs to movie line as well so I am very happy to merge him with my classics. Since he is from Cybertron, his alternate mode is nothing but a futuristic/concept sports car. It looks very nice and sleek but didn’t roll well due to tire alignment. Key can be inserted to activate weapon system and I much prefer to lay the gun flat. The pipes are not super tightly connected to the doors and can drop during transformation but not at the level of annoying.

Clocker’s transformation is fairly easy so can switch between modes easily. The robot mode looks nice but what he lacks is articulation. His arms swing okay from back and forth but when you try side by side, there is problem due to the somewhat too big shoulder pieces. Legs are okay but he is missing some swirl joints or ball joint on the knees to adjust the feet angle. Also not quite a fan of his hollow back and lower legs which are causing some balance issues. Other than these, he is fine. Got a gun and also two pipes to swing around unlike some other scout classes who got empty hands. He fits perfectly well with classics so I’m happy to add up this reinforcement.

Transformation: 6 – Simple but I think the legs part can be better designed. The panels can be popped out and the hollow legs do not provide good balance.
Fun: 8 – Both modes have good fun and he has weapons.
Display: 7 – He is repainted into much darker color scheme comparing to his Cybertron incarnation. But that makes him better fit with classics or even movie lines. Only if he has better articulations.
Value: 10 - $2.5 MISB from Once Upon A Child. Why not pick him up?
Overall: 7 – A good figure but I won’t spend full price on him. If you can find him cheap, he is worth picking up for some fun.
