Guzzle appeared in G1 Marvel comics and then never showed up again until recent IDW’s Last Stand Of The Wreckers. I do not particular like him even though that was a fun book to read, nor do I expect and want any toy of him. Until DOTM movie when they introduce the Wreckers, few characters that did not appear in the movie but are Wreckers did get some toys, such as HAB Whirl and this Cyberverse Commander class Guzzle. And man, he isn’t that easy to find. Guzzle’s alternate mode is a M1 Abrams tank. He is so far always a tank in G1 and IDW. To my surprise, this tank feels quite heavy. He doesn’t roll well since those tiny wheels never roll well. Color is pretty much all in military green and he is highly detailed. The two little weapons can be put on top which is a nice touch. The biggest problem is the entire turret and main gun cannot move and rotate due to his body part. Overall even though a good looking tank, there aren’t too much fun if the gun and turret cannot move. Transformation is pretty easy but separating and connecting the treads part can be tricky sometimes. In robot mode, Guzzle now has more colors in light green, light brown, yellow, and blue which totally fits his G1 and IDW color. Not quite good looking especially his face is kind of mess, but he definitely looks like another mix between movieverse and classics. There are no kibbles to limit his movement so the articulation is quite good. The two weapons can be combined into a gun and can be held in either hand. Since this is a Cyberverse Commander class, he is at the size between scout class and legend class. While I don’t particular like this new class, Guzzle, while being quite small comparing to other bots, is okay in this size. And what doesn’t make too much sense now is his main gun in tank mode. It is now hanging on his back and is fully rotatable and moveable. But the best place to point is up so he looks like guzzle. So all the sudden this feature doesn’t serve much purpose here. Transformation: 8 – Very easy but connecting/separating the treads can sometimes be challenging. Fun: 6 – If the turret cannot rotate due to transformation, at least make the main gun moveable in tank mode. And I was really hoping his head can rotate in robot mode. Display: 7 – Paint apps are above average, only don’t like the entire blue face. He displays okay with either movie figures or classics. Value: 10 – The way I got him, I don’t want to tell how much and how. But he was totally worth the money. Only he is not that easy to find. Overall: 7 – If Hasbro can solve the problem I mentioned in the Fun section, this will be a nice toy. But overall he is a better representation of Guzzle than Powerglide whom I just sold. So guess I will keep him around for a while. |
