Silverbolt

A leader of aerialbots, Silverbot is the core body of Superion and the tallest among others.

Silverbolt’s alternate mode is a supersonic jet. Unlike his personality, this jet looks can fly high and fast. He is mainly unpainted gray/white with some red and silver and little yellow. Overall it looks very nice but if you closer, you will find a lot of paint lacking. The wings are only painted one side; the engine is painted one side; the nose is only covered on top. A lot of places here and there that Hasbro didn’t paint and if they do, this figure will look much, much, much better. Which I did. The jet’s play value is so-so as the wings (his arms) do not connect tightly, but at least he has his robot parts hiding better than Onslaught.

Transformation isn’t hard but confusing at some part especially the legs and chest. I then just realize his legs are assembled incorrectly. They are totally on the wrong side. Thanks for an article on Seibertron, I’ve fixed the legs and so does the engine part in alt mode. IMO, this is a bad robot. While many people complain about Onslaught’s robot mode with his huge backpack, I think Silverbolt’s robot mode is even worse. He just doesn’t seem like in good quality. Elbow joints are loose, legs and feet just look bad, jet nose doesn’t connect with stomach tightly, paint jobs are so lacking if I don’t do myself, the unpainted plastics look cheap, the hollow chest is terrible, and he doesn’t even have proper hands. I can’t believe back in Energon, they were selling this guy by himself because I would never buy this figure if not for the gestalt. Overall, he just looks like today’s low quality PCC line scout class figures.

Transformation: 5 – Not that good, but consider he needs to convert to the important part, Superion’s body. But the hollow chest is just bad, bad, and bad.
Fun: 4 – Jet mode is okay. Robot mode is terrible. No too picky about having no weapons, he can always borrow from someone else, but the whole robot mode is just badly designed.
Display: 5 – Jet mode is better and my custom paints add more points to it. Every time I looked at the robot mode, my blood sizzled.
Overall: 4 – For standing along, this is not a good toy. I found myself enjoying in the heavy backpack Onslaught more than him.
