Air Raid/Airzaor(Slingshot)

The problem since G1, the aerialbots are hardly distinguishable besides their leader Silverbolt. Even this Energon mold, I still have trouble recognizing each individual but am able to for the Constructicons. Anyway.

Their alternate mode is a somewhat F-22 jet. Feet are well folded and hide but the arms are just hanging down there. To be honesty, the jet looks really bad. There are two big holes on the wings to clip the ugly energon weapons and the energon star on top doesn’t make much sense. Color wise, Air Raid is better and actually he is the best among all others. Airazor is okay but the light gold around cockpit does paint well. All I need to do for both of them is to cover another half of their legs/wings.

Transformation is fairly easy and their robot mode is better than others as well. The articulations are very basic and they can pose well with good balance. All the limb joints are quite loose but they can be fixed. The oversized energon weapons just don’t look well but at least better than empty hands. There two look nice and clean that they don’t have those big flat foot like Brawl or Blast Off have and they don’t have that annoying tail on the back like Swindle and Vortex have. Actually these two little robots grow in me more after I play with them more.

Transformation: 8 – Grade them high doesn’t mean they are complicate but easy and child friendly instead.
Fun: 9 – Jet mode is small and easy to carry around, especially for kids. Robot mode is simple and fun to play. Energon weapons don’t look good and something to play also.
Display: 6 – Jet mode is really bad but robot mode is nice.
Overall: 8 – Kids may like the jet mode but no me, but these two’s robot mode is nice. Good small toy even without considering combining.
