Alternator Sunstreaker didn't make me too happy about that mold so I later sold him. This feeling carried over when I saw Universe Sunstreaker and feared to death about the legs. After Sideswipes proved this mold is a decent mold, I also want Sunstreaker but it was already too late. And he is not cheap on the now-so-expensive internet and up until now, I finally got one.
Since I already covered much of this mold in Sideswipe's review (and in Red Alert also), this is gonna be a short one. Sunstreaker's alternate is identical to Sideswipe's, the impossible to resist Lamborghini. This car is just beauty, nothing more to talk about. The only thing is the seller did not include the pipe which is his gun, nor did he mention in the item description. A downside of shopping on eBay.
Transformation scheme is also exactly the same (with strangely much tighter joints) but the beautiful part is Sunstreaker is opposite to Sideswipe. I mean, his chest is Sideswipe's back and his back is Sideswipe's chest. This is a beautiful design to make two identical cars into two different robots beside the head. His head looks really nice and well detailed. The only issue about him is he misses his pathetic small gun. Good thing I have some extra and bigger spare guns from other figures so he can use it. His right elbow joint is a little loose so if he is holding a heavier weapons, his forearm just doesn't have enough strength to hold it. His chest is somewhat too long so it limits legs movement from moving forward, but this isn't a big issue to worry about. Overall, he is just as good as his brother unlike Red Alert who got few issues.
Edit: Bought Reprolabels sticker for him along with Jazz and Tracks. I was a little bit dissapointed with this set because Jazz's and Tracks' sets are so nice. The detail on the car roof is okay, at least it covered the ugly holes, but the base yellow is slightly different than the body. The Lambo logo is sweet, the chrome text on spoilers are nice, the details on the inside leg are okay, and that's it. The chrome on booster looks strange and doesn't look that good. The wrist band doesn't make any sense to me and the shoulder red doesn't look good either. The black skirt line makes sense but they are too thin and couldn't stay put, especially they are on the most important part of transformation. So I rather remove them but at least they gave me ideas where to paint though.
Transformation: 10 - A beautiful way of using different body part to make a different robot from the same car. Or I should put this line in Sideswipe's since his release is after Sunstreaker.
Fun: 9 - Put him together with his brother, nice.
Reprolabels: 4 - Not too much details to shine him and the black skirt line is a waste due to the lines are too thin. I rather just paint them over.
Display: 9 - Same as above.
Value: 7 - $10.62 plus $7 combined shipping with Prowl, this is a reasonable and good winning bid from eBay. But the damn seller did not mention about the missing gun. Even it is small, I still want it.
Overall: 9 - Overall, Sideswipe's design is better because his chest doesn't limit the leg movement. But Sunstreaker is also a fantastic mold a classics lover shouldn't miss.
