Prowl

It took me a while to finally decide to get this universe/classics Prowl after reading so many different reviews about him.

His alternate mode is a Nissan 350Z Japanese highway patrol. The car mode is sturdy and looks really nice except the paints at the corner are easily faded (or say custom faded). Rolls pretty well on the surface but the doors cannot be opened (my son: no......). His gun can be stored at the bottom in the engine part, but never attach well (at least I figure is). Also if it can be attached, after an easy rolling it will come off. So I usually just leave the gun on the shelf when he is in the car mode.

The first time transformation to robot mode is a little bit frustrating on the door rolling/folding. It just easily pops out. So some times the easy way is to get the doors off, fold it, and then attach it back.

Prowl has a nice looking face and he can pose very well, too. Only because of his feet size, he may have some balancing issues. My first impression when I looked at him is he looks too white. Then looking at his body and I thought about giving him some Gundam-line. So there you go as you can see from the images below. I've applied them on the head, shoulder, and thigh. He has a hand gun but not too special.

Edit: Second time I've tried to custom paint this guy, and this time I won't screw up like I did before. I've painted his hubcaps and rocket launchers to silver and added some black detail touch on the bumper and body.

Transformation: 6 - Generally easy but door folding can be frastrating, plus they pops out easily. The gun does not attach well in the car mode.
Fun: 7 - Good car mode (without gun attached), good posable robot mode without balancing issue, and good looking guy.
Display: 7 - Much better in car mode. Even though robot mode looks good but the balance issue might tip him over.
Value: 8 - Regular deluxe class price $9.99 at Target.
Overall: 7 - Even tough he does not have very good review from other places, I actually like this figure.
