I was never interested in any PCC figures. If I buy, they will be for my son. Only until recently, I bought PCC Leadfoot at the discount store to ease the drought time but then returned it right away. Now, I picked this guy up again (and he is still available) only because I need his mini-con to be with Vector Prime. So now leave this guy along and here is his review. Leadfoot’s alternate mode is a F1 racer, very much like Classics Mirage. He is majority orange with some white, black, and silver all over his body and he is colored pretty well with enough details. He looks very sleek and rolls quite well. The blue connectors are all lining at the tail acting like throttle boosters. This is a very nice design to put those connectors unlike other PCC commanders. He holds himself very well in this mode since all the panels and pegs are connected tightly. There is a peg at the car front that can be raised to connect the mini-con but it totally doesn’t make sense to me. I really like his race car mode and it is much better than the DOTM HA Dragstrip. The transformation is quite basic and well designed. And Leadfoot’s robot mode looks okay, just okay. First his head looks kind of too small with long neck. And then his fingers are forming by the race car side boosters and they are just way too big. Articulations are very nice and he is well balanced. The mini-con can be attached on his chest and back but they both don’t look good to me. Since he does not have fist hole or anything to hold the weapon, the mini-cons is attached on the side of his forearm but that doesn’t look good either. This is not a bad robot and actually quite fun to play with but I think he could be better designed. Mini-con Pinpoint is actually a highlight of this set. He has two barrel guns hanging on his back (DOTM HA one is using the same design) and besides he is in transparent orange, he is well designed. Basic articulations are there and he looks good as a weapon and this is the major reason I bought this set so he can join my Cybertron Vector Prime (after painted white). I have to say Leadfoot’s combiner mode looks really not good to me. The body is too short and triangular and limb movement is very limited. And I didn’t buy him to combine with others, so I guess I will ignore this feature for now. The combiner head does look quite nice and no wonder some customizers cut this head to use on something else. Transformation: 8 – Well designed IMO and he holds himself nicely in both modes. Fun: 7 – He is quite fun to play with in both mode but the robot hands aren’t well designed. I really don’t like his combiner mode but I don’t think I will combine him with other drones. Display: 6 – Race car mode looks excellent and robot mode looks good but the head and hands ruined it. Combiner mode, who is using him for combiner mode? Value: 9 - 5 dollars something at the discount store Marshalls. No complain. Overall: 7 – A pretty good toy overall. But I ‘m not a fan of Leadfoot nor do I need another Autobot to join my Classics Autobot squad. And I’ve already decided whom to paint him into. |
