Blaster

I went on for a crazy one day TF hunt to Chicago suburb area (of course plus other purposes also). Mainly was to find HA
Barricade and TFA Arcee, but failed at them both. Instead, found this Blaster at half price. Well, since I was searching for
Cybertron Soundwave not too long ago, picked him up is better then coming back with empty hands, right?

Blaster is a repaint of Cybertron Soundwave. His alternate mode is sort of like a F-117 Nighthawk. The jet mode is pretty
sleek but the color looks messy. He comes with three accessories (besides the key) that two bombs can transformer to a gun
and store underneath the wings. One bomb is actually the mini-con Blockrock who can transformer into a bird/falcon and
can be stored inside the bottom cartridge (robot chest). The key can be inserted to open the cartridge and the bomb will
drop out. The jet isn't that charming and squeeze all the limbs together tightly into the body is a little bit challenging.

To me so far, Cybertron line does not have very complicate transformation sequence. Blaster in this case, is a little bit more
challenging but still easy enough not to look at the instruction. Blaster has wide body and thin legs. I do hope his wings
are adjustable to fold backward such as Astrotrain's. He can stand well but the legs are either open very wide or close very
tight. It's very hard to find something in between. He has several slots on his body besides hands that can either hold the
guns or land the Blockrock. The two shields on each arm (the jet cockpit and bottom) are really in the way that limit a lot
of arm's movement. For my figure, the knee joints are super, super tight. I have to do it very hard to bend the knee that
sometimes I am afraid of breaking it. The extra joint below the knee is actually quite loose that are easily to bend while
standing and will make him look so strange.

Blockrock is the highlight of this entire figure. He can be stored in the chest or transform into a bird/eagle/falcon. He
actually has a lot of articulations that the head, legs, and wings are movable. The only problem is his eyes are not painted,
guess I just have to do it myself.

Transformation: 7 - Not difficult and putting everying back to jet mode tightly is a little bit challenging.
Fun: 9 - Blaster looks good in either mode. The weapons has many options to put and there is the Blockrock. On problem
is his posing due to arms and legs problem.
Display: 8 - He looks good in either mode, but his wing will take you some space.
Value: 10 - $9.97 clearence price at Toysrus. Fantastic price for this figure.
Overall: 8 - I would be much happier if this is Soundwave. The figure overall is good but I think those problems on the
robot mode can be and should be fixed by Hasbro.
